5 Quick Public Speaking Tips!
5 quick Public Speaking Tips...
1) If you can't stand your voice...please get over it.
If you can't, then go to a voice specialist who can assist you
in fixing it. Either way, it's probably not as bad as you think it is.
(Unless you really sound like "The Nanny!")
2) If you have strong accent (either regional, and, or
from another country) this could work to your advantage.
Again, consult a voice coach. I was trained professionally as an
actor. I worked very hard to lose my NY Long Island accent,
so I could effectively do Shakespeare. If I can do it, so
can you. But it takes work.
3) Learn to love your voice; once you do your audience will
do the same.
4) BE PREPARED: Get a strong database of stories so
you when you are called to speak at a moment's notice
you will be prepared! (Success is when preperation
meets opportunity!)
5) YOU can't please every one. 100% of your audience is NOT
going to love you. Don't lose sleep or obsess over it.
Focus on the many people who do appreciate your message and
your presentation.
